How we match our diamond pairs
Two diamonds only make a true pair when they look identical in the ear. We compare every stone in our natural and lab-grown inventory and only show combinations that meet strict matching standards:
- Identical grading — the same shape, color, clarity, cut, polish and symmetry.
- Matching size — length and width within 0.10mm of each other.
- Near-identical weight — carat weights within 5% (never more than 0.05ct apart).
- Balanced proportions — depth percentages within 1.5%, so both stones sit and sparkle the same way.

What is a matched pair of diamonds?
A matched pair is two diamonds chosen to look the same side by side. Both stones share the same shape, color, clarity, cut, polish and symmetry, and are almost identical in carat weight and measurements, so earrings look balanced and even when worn.
How closely are the diamonds in each pair matched?
Every pair on this page shares identical color, clarity and finish grades. Their length and width are within 0.10mm of each other, their carat weights differ by no more than 5% (and never more than 0.05ct), and their depth percentages are within 1.5%.
Should I choose a natural or lab-grown diamond pair?
Both are real diamonds with the same sparkle and hardness. Natural diamonds formed deep in the earth over billions of years, while lab-grown diamonds are created above ground and typically cost significantly less for the same size and grade. Use the Natural and Lab-Grown tabs to compare.
Can I have my pair set into earrings?
Yes. Choose “Add to earrings” after selecting a pair and both diamonds are added to your cart while you browse our diamond earrings to find the right setting. Our team can also create a bespoke design around your chosen stones.
Do the diamonds come with a grading report?
Most diamonds in our matching pairs are graded by a leading independent laboratory such as GIA, IGI or HRD. Where a report is available, you can open it from the Report column of the table.
