Inspired by The Princess of Wales blue sapphire cluster diamond engagement ring The Kate Middleton design comb
Inspired by The Princess of Wales blue sapphire cluster diamond engagement ring The Kate Middleton design combines quality stones with an ever popular engagement ring design, creating a look that will be admired for many years to come. The centre stone is a 0.65ct sapphire that has been cut to sparkle and is surrounded by a halo of round brilliant cut accent diamonds, then set on a simple solitaire band.
The Kate Middleton Design blue sapphire engagement ring comes in a choice of 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold or platinum with a small diamond weight of approximately 0.30 carat total.
Originally the ring was given as the engagement ring of Princess Diana. Lady Diana Spencer and Charles, Prince of Wales, became engaged in February 1981. Her engagement ring consisted of 14 solitaire diamonds surrounding a 12-carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire set in 18-karat white gold.It was created by then-crown jeweller Garrard.
When Prince William proposed to Catherine Middleton in the autumn of 2010 in Kenya, he gave her the ring.
